# Third-party marks in this package

The 4 files in this folder are trademarks of their owners. They are included unaltered, for the single use the baseline makes of them: the footer's 3 icon-only tiles that link to Jeff Posluns's GitHub, LinkedIn and ORCID profiles. They are not covered by the CC0 grant in `../LICENSE`; each is used under its owner's published terms, recorded below as read on the retrieval date. Scale them uniformly, never recolour, crop, add a plate or frame, or combine them with other words or shapes.

## GitHub Invertocat (`github-invertocat-black.svg`, `github-invertocat-white.svg`)

- Source: `GitHub_Logos.zip` from https://brand.github.com/ (retrieved 2026-11-02 17:38 UTC); the black and the white Invertocat are GitHub's own files.
- Terms, from GitHub's logo and usage guidelines as read by the owner at brand.github.com on 2026-11-02. Do: "Link to GitHub: Use a permitted GitHub logo to link to GitHub." "Social button: Use the Invertocat logo as a social button to link to your GitHub profile or project." "Secondary placement: Use the permitted GitHub logos less prominently than your own company or product name or logo." Do not: "Imply affiliation." "Use as your logo." "Modify the logo: Do not modify the permitted GitHub logos, including changing the color, dimensions, or combining with other words or design elements." "Use without permission."
- Applied in the baseline: a social button to the owner's profile; the black mark in light mode and the white mark in dark mode (`img.only-light`, `img.only-dark`); scaled uniformly; no plate; smaller than every project logo in the same bar; the label is visually hidden, so no word lockup.

## LinkedIn [in] bug (`linkedin-in-bug.png`)

- Source: the official `in-logo.zip` from https://brand.linkedin.com/downloads (retrieved 2026-11-02).
- Terms: the download page states that by downloading you agree to the LinkedIn Brand Guidelines and the LinkedIn User Agreement, and the brand policies page states that the Brand may only be used as outlined in the guidelines (as read on 2026-11-02). The guidelines as read do not require a background behind the bug.
- Applied: a link to the owner's profile; unaltered proportions (`object-fit: contain`); the official blue; no plate.

## ORCID iD icon (`orcid-id.svg`)

- Source: https://orcid.org/assets/vectors/orcid.logo.icon.svg (retrieved 2026-11-02).
- Terms: ORCID's brand guidelines state that logos and iD icons must be used as provided and not altered; the display guidelines recommend the SVG, at 24 px or larger, and the green colourway in most cases (as read on 2026-11-02).
- Applied: a link to the owner's ORCID record; the green icon, unaltered, at 32 px in the footer (24 px at the smallest stage).

If a mark's owner changes its terms or asks for its removal, remove the file and its tile; the footer's markup allows a tail of 1 to 3 tiles.
